Mobvoi, known for its budget-friendly Wear OS smartwatches, launched a duo of new models earlier in the year in the form of the Ticwatch E2 and Ticwatch S2 . Regarding the latter sportier model, Mobvoi has just announced a new white finish to go alongside the existing black.
Beyond the new colour, it's exactly the same as the original in terms of features and specifications. That means it includes a 30% larger battery compared to the first generation Ticwatch S.
That's alongside a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 rather than the newer Snapdragon Wear 3100 seen in admittedly more expensive models like the Fossil Sport .
Rounding out its sporty credentials are built-in GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo location tracking, a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope and a low latency off body sensor. That raft of sensors is used for Mobvoi's AI algorithms used for automatic activity recognition.
As the technology becomes mainstream, virtual reality will make more worlds open up to customers. Think of resorts sharing virtual experiences to lure adventurers to book a desired holiday, or social channels such as YouTube housing content that are simply plug-and-play—the possibilities are endless.
As the Ticwatch S2 is water-resistant to 5ATM, it's perfectly happy in the pool as well. It includes swim monitoring and can recognise different strokes alongside counting laps. It also supports SWOLF calculations to improve your swimming efficiency.
The new white Ticwatch S2 is available now direct from Mobvoi and Amazon with an RRP of €179.99 and joins the likes of the Ticwatch C2 , Ticwatch Pro and Ticwatch E2.
